Silver Hill Neighbor Association Board Meeting Minutes

Buena Vista Community Center

August 13, 2007

7:00 PM to 9:00 PM

SHNA Board Meeting called to order and agenda distributed.

There was not a quorum so no business was transacted.

Board Presentations

Safe City – Gordon will attend

Bike Albuquerque – There is growing support for this project, not just on silver but several streets throughout Albuquerque.

NM Wild – Stephen Capra, Executive Director spoke about nmwild.org. - Wanting to send a letter to Congresswoman Heather Wilson to protect Otero Mesa which is under attack by oil speculators. The water resources and natural habitat are irreplaceable.

Committee Reports

Treasurer’s Report – No Update

Crime Committee Report – No Report

Tree Project Task Force Report – Bill Cobb

Gold Street – The project has been going faster and they are nearing completion. Bill Cobb has written numerous letters and is hounding them.

Zoning Committee Report – Bill Cobb

1524 Lead – 8 apt must be reduced to 5 Apts. Currently red tagged by the City.

1510 Gold – Torn down & red tagged. The City issued a building permit for plans that were not to code, again, next door to the other one where the City did the same thing.

1500 Block of Central – Bar-B-Que restaurant??

1900 Block of Central – Burger King being torn down – Not zoned for Residential??

Design Regulation Task Force Report – Bill Cobb

Site Southwest to finish their work on draft in mid September.

Gold Street Celebration – Looking for an individual to take the lead.

Parking Permits – No one is available to manage a parking permit event. We will try to get word out about the Permit event East of Yale.

SHNA Not-For-Profit Status - SHNA is not a 501c3 Not for Profit Corporation. To do so will take filing some papers.
